Livistona Nitida an endemic to southeastern Queensland Australia where it grows near permanent springs and along banks of rivers at low elevation.
His solitary trunk attains a height approaching 10m (in the right environment) with a diameter of 30cm, is light gray to brown, with a distinct ridge of leaf base scar. The leaf crown is circular and open. Leaves are 1.5 – 2m wide and 1.5m long petioles. The yellow green leaf segments extend three quarters of the way to the petioles and are narrow, limp and pendent creating a weeping effect. The fruits are round glossy and black.
