Callistemon is an unusual but extremely attractive Australian shrub. It bears fluffy bright coloured brushes of flowers around the tips of its stem in summer. The really strange effect is produced later however, as the stems peeps out of the end of the flower and continues to grow.They make great greenhouse and cool conservatory plants as they need little winter heat to keep them happy. They are also pretty compact plants and can be kept small.
